Bringing Modern Back to Mid-Century Pt-4

This may be my last post until we are ready for the final reveal.  There’s not much left to do and I think the coming week or two will fly by in a flash.  I am still in complete awe of how quickly everyone has worked and what an amazing job these skilled craftsmen are doing.,

We decided to move the laundry facility out of the “mud room” area and into the unfinished storage room. In doing that, however, we ultimately decided to finish that utility space to add to the living area and to enhance the laundry room’s appeal and utility.

The floors went down this week, the interior paint and exterior paint were almost completely finished, the hall bathtub and shower were re-glazed, the plumbing and electrical service have been upgraded, and the pool deck was filled, sprayed with knock down and is getting ready to get a new coat of paint.

All we have left to do now is finish the new master shower, install the kitchen (cabinets arrive tomorrow) and put the finishing touches on doors, light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, etc.

We’ve met the super sweet next door neighbors who closed on their house the very same week we closed on this house.  They haven’t moved in yet because they are doing some updating to that home too before they get all settled.  I guess they just moved from one house in this neighborhood to another.  It would seem that people who have lived in Dover Shores West for a while, like to stay there and just upgrade as they can to larger or more modern homes or perhaps a house on the lake.

I’m keeping a close eye on the listing activity and thinking we may be making this convenient area home at some point too.
